Terms of Service
These terms apply from 1 November 2026.
1. About us and how to contact us
AgriVale is operated by AGRIVALE LIMITED, a company registered in Ireland under company number 824192, with its registered office at Venture Hub, 136 Capel Street, Dublin, D01 T2C9, Ireland. In these terms, "AgriVale", "we", "us" and "our" mean AGRIVALE LIMITED. "You" and "your" mean the person who holds an AgriVale account.
One address handles support, privacy and legal questions: info@agrivale.ie. We do not publish a support telephone number or a support WhatsApp number.
These terms, together with the Privacy Policy and the Cookie and Storage Policy, are the agreement between you and us for your use of AgriVale. If you are a business customer and personal data of other people is held in your AgriVale account, the Data Processing Agreement also applies to that data.
By creating an account or using AgriVale, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use AgriVale.
2. What AgriVale is
AgriVale is farm software for Irish farms. It is available as a mobile app and as a website, and there is a separate web portal for agricultural advisors.
Depending on your plan and on how you set it up, AgriVale can hold your herd and animal records, submit calf registrations and movement notifications to the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine on your instruction, keep compliance and scheme paperwork, capture receipts, invoices and bank statements, track grass, milk, weights and feed, send you reminders and alerts, and let you work with an agricultural advisor you choose.
AgriVale is a tool for keeping and working with your own farm records. It is not an official register, it is not a Government service, and it does not provide professional advice. Sections 10 to 18 set out what that means in practice.
3. Who can use AgriVale
To open an AgriVale account you must be 18 or older and legally capable of entering into a contract.
Where an account or a farm in AgriVale is tied to a herd number or to a farm business, you must be the holder or owner of that herd number or business, or have authority to act for the person who is.
You are responsible for everything done through your account, and for the acts of anyone you authorise to use AgriVale on your behalf or give access to your farm — including family members, employees, contractors and advisors.
4. Your account and keeping it secure
You sign in with your name and your mobile number. We send a one-time code by SMS or WhatsApp to that number, and you enter the code to sign in. Some older accounts, and all advisor accounts, sign in with an email address instead.
The one-time code is the key to your account. Keep it to yourself. Do not share it with anyone, including anyone who says they are from AgriVale — we will never ask you for it.
Keep the mobile number and email address on your account up to date. If you lose control of the number or the address, or you think someone else has used your account, tell us at info@agrivale.ie straight away.
Network operators and messaging providers carry these codes. Delivery of an SMS or WhatsApp message is not something we control, and codes can be delayed or fail to arrive.
5. Farm accounts and herd verification
When you set up a farm in AgriVale you give us your herd number and some basic farm information.
Before you can use AgriVale's Department (AIM) features — reading your herd from the Department's systems, registering calves, or notifying movements — you have to complete herd verification. We send a PIN to the email address the Department holds for your herd (your Agfood address), and you enter it in AgriVale. That proves to us that you are the herd keeper or are authorised to act for them.
Once a herd is verified, we may ask you to re-enter part of that PIN before certain submissions, as an extra check that it is really you.
Verification protects other farmers as much as it protects you. Do not attempt to verify a herd you are not entitled to act for.
6. Advisor accounts
Agricultural advisors can open a separate advisor account and use the AgriVale advisor portal to run their practice — their client book, notes, tasks, documents, invoices and messages.
Advisors who use AgriVale accept these terms too. In addition:
- An advisor is responsible for the professional advice they give. We do not give it, check it or stand behind it.
- An advisor is responsible for their own obligations to their clients, including their own data protection obligations for the records they keep about them.
- An advisor may only invite a farm they have a genuine professional relationship with, and may only use farm information they are given access to for the purpose of advising that farm.
7. Plans, and what you pay
AgriVale has two plans for farms:
- AgriVale Free — your herd, calf registration, animal records, connecting your advisor, advisor tasks and the advisor WhatsApp conversation.
- AgriVale Pro — everything in Free, plus the full Farm Inbox, compliance and nitrates, finance, production, the AgriVale WhatsApp assistant, reminders, farm conditions, insights, farm team access, and support for AgriVale Connect hardware.
Working with an advisor is free. A farmer never has to pay in order to connect to an advisor, receive advisor tasks or hold the advisor conversation.
Paid billing is not switched on. We have no payment provider, we take no card details, and nobody is charged anything. Farms created today are given Pro features at no charge. There is no free trial, because there is nothing to trial into.
The price we intend to charge for AgriVale Pro when billing does start is €20 per month, or €200 per year.
Before any charge begins, all of the following will happen:
- We will give you at least 30 days' notice in advance.
- We will show you the price and the billing terms that will apply.
- You will have to actively choose a paid plan. Nobody is moved onto paid billing automatically, and no plan renews into a charge by default.
The terms for renewal, payment, payment failure, cancellation and refunds will be presented to you at that point, and will form part of this agreement from then. Nothing in these terms today creates a payment obligation, an automatic renewal or a cancellation charge.
If you do not choose a paid plan, your farm continues on AgriVale Free. We will tell you in the same notice which features are in Free at that time, so you can decide.
AgriVale Connect is hardware and is priced separately. Nothing in this section commits us to supply it.
8. Your farm data, and the licence you give us
Your data is yours. Your animal records, documents, photographs, receipts, bank statements, measurements, notes and messages remain yours. We do not claim ownership of them.
So that we can run AgriVale for you, you give us a licence to host, copy, store, transmit, display, back up, process and adapt that content. The licence is limited to:
- operating AgriVale and providing the features you use;
- keeping AgriVale and your account secure, and preventing abuse;
- supporting you when you ask us for help;
- improving AgriVale and its features.
The licence lasts as long as we hold the content, and ends when the content is deleted. It does not let us sell your data, publish it, or share it with anyone except as described in the Privacy Policy.
We do not use your farm data to train artificial-intelligence models, and the terms and settings that apply to our AI supplier's account mean your content is not used to train its models either. See section 17.
You are responsible for having the right to put content into AgriVale — including any document, photograph or record that concerns somebody else.
9. Checking what is in AgriVale
You are responsible for reviewing information in AgriVale before you rely on it, whether you typed it in, imported it, received it from another system, or AgriVale read it out of a document or generated it for you.
This matters most for:
- figures taken automatically off a receipt, invoice or bank statement;
- anything AgriVale calculates, estimates or forecasts;
- anything that is about to be submitted to the Department;
- withdrawal periods, dates and quantities in medicine records.
If something looks wrong, it may be wrong. Check it against the original document or the official record before you act on it.
10. Farmer and herd keeper responsibility
You, as the farmer or herd keeper, remain responsible for complying with all legal and regulatory obligations relating to your herd and farm records. This includes animal identification and tagging, calf registrations, movements, births, deaths and other animal events, herd records, declarations and notifications, and the deadlines that apply to each of them.
That responsibility includes making sure that information given to the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine is accurate, complete and submitted within the required timeframes. You are also responsible for the accuracy and completeness of the information you enter into AgriVale.
AgriVale is designed to help you manage records, prepare information, submit supported transactions and monitor your farm information. Using AgriVale does not transfer your legal responsibilities to AgriVale.
You remain responsible for checking that required records and notifications have been correctly recorded by the relevant Department system, and for taking any further action required where a submission is rejected, queried, held, delayed or otherwise not confirmed.
Where information shown in AgriVale differs from the official Department record, the official Department record takes precedence.
AgriVale may provide alerts, reminders, status information and reconciliation checks to help you. The absence of an alert, reminder or warning in AgriVale is not confirmation that a legal or regulatory obligation has been met.
AgriVale is not the statutory herd register and is not a replacement for it. Hosting a copy of your records for you does not make our copy the official one.
10A. Department (AIM) services, including calf registration
Where you use AgriVale's Department (AIM) features, AgriVale acts as a software interface and administrative aid. Submissions — including calf registrations and movement notifications — are made at your instruction and on your behalf.
A submission is not the same as a completed registration or notification. AgriVale shows the status the Department's system returns, and for calf registrations it uses these statuses:
- Submitted — awaiting AIM confirmation: AIM accepted the submission, but AgriVale has not yet confirmed the calf with a later check against AIM.
- Held by the Department: AIM put the registration on file with a query. It is not registered until the query is resolved with the Department.
- Registered: shown only after a later, separate check against AIM confirms the calf.
- AIM registration not confirmed: the calf has not been confirmed within the period AgriVale uses for its own alerts. This is an AgriVale reminder to check, not a Department timescale.
You remain responsible for making sure each calf is registered within the period the law requires, and for following up on any registration or notification that is held, queried, rejected, delayed or unconfirmed — including contacting the Department where required. Where a submission has not been confirmed, treat it as not made.
The Department's systems are outside our control, including their availability, response times, processing times and how quickly information becomes visible in them. Official AIM and Department records take precedence over anything shown in AgriVale.
Keeping your own records, and being able to produce them for the period the law requires, is your responsibility. Section 20 explains how to get your records out of AgriVale.
11. Compliance features
AgriVale's compliance features — nitrates figures, Bord Bia readiness, scheme documentation, slurry and spreading information — are built from the data in your account. They are working estimates to help you see where you stand. They are not a determination of compliance, and they are not an official record.
The following appears on AgriVale's compliance screens, and it is part of these terms:
"Figures are estimates based on the data available in AgriVale. Verify important compliance information with official records or your agricultural advisor."
Scheme rules, derogation conditions and standards change. We update AgriVale when we can, but you are responsible for knowing the rules that apply to your holding and for meeting them.
12. Finance features
AgriVale can capture receipts and invoices, read figures off them, import bank statements, classify bank transactions, produce farm accounts and show budgets and forecasts.
These are software-generated records and estimates. They are not accounting, tax, financial or investment advice, they are not an audit, and they are not a set of statutory accounts. AGRIVALE LIMITED is not regulated to give financial advice and does not give it.
The following appears on AgriVale's finance screens, and it is part of these terms:
"Figures are based on the data available in AgriVale and may include estimates. Verify important financial and tax information with your accountant or tax advisor."
Every report you export or share from AgriVale carries this:
"Figures in this report are based on information available in AgriVale and may include estimates, assumptions or automatically processed data. Information may be incomplete or inaccurate. Verify important compliance information against your farm records and official sources, and review financial information with your accountant or tax advisor where appropriate."
Your obligation to keep tax records, and to keep them in a form Revenue accepts, stays with you. Using AgriVale does not move that obligation to us.
13. Production information
Grass, milk, weights and feed features show you what your own measurements say. They do not diagnose anything, do not set targets for you, and do not tell you what to do. Where a figure cannot be worked out reliably from the data available, AgriVale leaves it out rather than guessing.
14. Working with an advisor
Advisors are independent third parties. AGRIVALE LIMITED does not employ, appoint, supervise, approve or endorse any advisor. We do not check an advisor's qualifications, insurance or advice. Your relationship with your advisor, and anything you pay them, is between you and them.
How a connection works:
- The advisor sends you an invite link or code. It is theirs to send — AgriVale does not send it for them — and it expires after seven days.
- The farm owner accepts it. The owner must have a verified mobile number on their account. No other member of the farm can accept, and an advisor cannot connect themselves.
- The owner chooses what to share. The connection starts. Until the owner accepts, the advisor sees nothing of your farm.
What you can choose to share:
| Sharing choice | What your advisor can see | Plan |
|---|---|---|
| Herd | Your animals, weights, treatments and health events | Free |
| Tasks | Your job list in Farm Activity — all of it, not only the jobs your advisor sets you | Free |
| Documents | Files you and your advisor share with each other | Free |
| Compliance | Your nitrogen loading, slurry windows and Bord Bia records | Pro |
| Finance | Your budgets and forecasts | Pro |
Finance is off unless you turn it on. If a farm moves from Pro to Free, compliance and finance sharing stop at once.
While a connection is live:
- Your farm records are read-only to your advisor. They cannot change what you have recorded. They can add work of their own alongside it: messages and attachments they send you, tasks they set you that appear in your Farm Activity, and — only where you have shared finance — figures in a budget forecast, which are marked as entered by your advisor.
- Your advisor cannot open the receipt, bank statement or compliance files you upload, and cannot see your bank transactions.
- A farm can have one connected advisor at a time.
- The owner can change what is shared in the web app, and can revoke the connection from the web app or from the phone app. Revocation takes effect immediately: the advisor's access to your farm ends at once, including their view of anything they had shared into it.
- The advisor can also end the connection from their side at any time.
- We keep an audit record of the connection, of the confirmation, of every change to what is shared, and of revocation — including who did it and what changed.
When a connection ends, the advisor keeps their own records — their notes, tasks, invoices, the entry for you in their client book, and documents they hold. Those are the advisor's records as an independent controller, not ours to delete on your instruction. If you want them deleted, ask your advisor. Email us at info@agrivale.ie and we will pass the request on and tell you we have.
You are responsible for what you choose to share and with whom.
15. Messages we send you
AgriVale sends you messages by WhatsApp, SMS, email and in the app. These are operational messages — they are part of the service, not marketing:
- one-time codes and other authentication messages;
- farm alerts and reminders, including the morning WhatsApp digest;
- messages from an advisor you are connected to;
- service, security, billing and legal notices.
We do not send marketing. We do not collect marketing consent and we do not have a marketing list.
You can turn the optional ones off. In the app's notification settings you can switch WhatsApp off entirely, limit it to critical alerts only, or pick rule by rule which alerts reach you, and you can set quiet hours. Advisor messages stop when you revoke the advisor's connection. Authentication messages and essential service and security notices cannot be turned off while you hold an account, because the account cannot be operated safely without them.
Message delivery depends on third-party networks — WhatsApp, mobile operators and email providers. We cannot guarantee that a message is delivered, or delivered on time. Do not rely on an AgriVale reminder as your only means of meeting a deadline.
16. Third-party services and Government integrations
AgriVale uses third-party services to work — hosting, messaging, email, maps, weather and artificial intelligence. They are named in the Privacy Policy and on the Subprocessors page.
Where you use AgriVale's Department (AIM) features, information is sent to the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine on your instruction, and the Department then handles it under its own rules and its own privacy notice.
AgriVale includes maps supplied by Mapbox and by Google. Where Google Maps features and content appear, your use of them is subject to the Google Maps/Google Earth Additional Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.
AgriVale may link to third-party websites, such as the Irish Cattle Breeding Federation. Those sites are not ours. We do not control them and we are not responsible for them.
17. Artificial intelligence and automated processing
AgriVale uses artificial intelligence for a defined set of jobs: reading figures and dates off receipts, invoices and bank statements; suggesting what a bank transaction was for; transcribing voice notes; reading ear-tag photographs; turning short notes you type or send into records; answering scheme questions from official documents; and producing farm reviews for advisors.
Two things follow from that, and both matter:
- AI output can be wrong. It can misread a figure, a date or a tag number, and it can be confidently wrong. Check anything that matters before you rely on it — see section 9.
- AI does not make decisions about you. Where AgriVale applies a suggested classification to a bank transaction automatically, it is labelling what a payment was for. It never changes an amount, a date or a balance, and you can change the label at any time. AgriVale does not make decisions about you based solely on automated processing that produce legal effects for you or similarly significantly affect you.
The Privacy Policy sets out what is sent to our AI supplier, how long it may be held and where it is processed.
18. AgriVale is not professional advice
Nothing in AgriVale — including any figure, estimate, forecast, alert, reminder, classification, summary, article or AI output — is professional advice.
AgriVale does not replace your accountant, your tax advisor, your agricultural advisor, your veterinary practitioner, your solicitor or any other qualified professional. Where a decision matters, take advice from a person qualified to give it.
19. Availability, maintenance, backups and security
We work to keep AgriVale available and running properly, but we do not promise that it will be available without interruption or free of faults.
We may change, suspend or withdraw parts of AgriVale for maintenance, repairs, security or upgrades. We will give notice where we reasonably can, and we may not be able to for urgent security work.
We take routine daily backups of the AgriVale database as part of running the service, and keep them for 7 days before they are overwritten. Backups exist so that we can recover from loss or corruption of the system. They are not a personal archive of your records and we do not offer restores of individual accounts or individual records. Keep your own copies of anything you need — see section 20.
We use security measures appropriate to the risk. No online service can be made perfectly secure, and we do not claim that ours is.
20. Getting your records out
AgriVale gives you exports you can download or share, including a receipts-and-documents ZIP, a money-out CSV, farm accounts as a PDF, a printable compliance report, a milk and weights CSV, and a Bord Bia audit report from the phone.
Each export covers what it says and no more. None of them is a complete copy of everything in your account, and we do not currently offer one. You can also ask us for a copy of your personal data under data protection law — the Privacy Policy explains how.
Because you, not AgriVale, are the person the law requires to keep farm records, download what you need before you close your account.
21. Closing your account
You can close a farm account in the app's settings, on the web or on the phone. We show you the exports first, then name the farm that is about to be deleted, then ask you to type the herd number to confirm.
When you confirm:
- Your farm and everything in it — animals, movements, medicines, grass, milk, weights, tasks, compliance records, documents and finance — is deleted from AgriVale's live systems straight away. It cannot be undone.
- The files you uploaded are deleted too: receipts, bank statements, compliance attachments and message attachments.
- Records your advisor holds in their own account — their notes, tasks, invoices and documents about your farm — are your advisor's records, not ours. Ask your advisor directly. If you email info@agrivale.ie we will pass the request on.
- We keep a minimal security and audit record that the deletion happened, with the personal details removed.
- Copies in our routine encrypted database backups are not altered one by one — they are overwritten as the backups age out, within 7 days. The files you uploaded are not held in those database backups at all; they are deleted from storage.
Your login is deleted with the farm, unless it is also an advisor account or you own another farm on AgriVale — in which case the login stays and only the farm you named is deleted.
An advisor closes an advisor account from the advisor portal, and must delete or transfer any farm they own first.
We may close an account that has been inactive for a long period, after telling you first and giving you a reasonable opportunity to keep it or export your records.
22. Our intellectual property
AgriVale — the software, the websites, the apps, the designs, the text, the graphics, the name and the AgriVale marks — belongs to AGRIVALE LIMITED or to our licensors, and is protected by intellectual property law.
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use AgriVale for your own farm business or advisory practice, for as long as this agreement lasts and in line with it. That is the only right you get; nothing else is granted, by implication or otherwise.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to extract the source code of AgriVale, except to the extent the law says you may despite this restriction.
If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them freely and without owing you anything for them.
23. Acceptable use
You must not:
- use AgriVale unlawfully, or for any fraudulent or deceptive purpose;
- verify or claim a herd number you are not entitled to act for, or submit anything to the Department that you are not authorised or entitled to submit;
- access, or try to access, another user's account, farm or data;
- upload malware, or anything designed to damage or interfere with AgriVale or its users;
- scrape, crawl, bulk-download or systematically extract data from AgriVale, or use automated means to access it other than through a means we provide;
- probe, scan or test the security of AgriVale, or get around any access control, rate limit or security measure;
- resell, sublicense or provide AgriVale to a third party as a service;
- use AgriVale to send unlawful, abusive, harassing or misleading messages;
- use AgriVale or its output to train an artificial-intelligence or machine-learning model;
- upload content you do not have the right to upload, or personal data about another person that you have no lawful basis to hold.
If you find a security problem, tell us at info@agrivale.ie rather than exploiting it. We will not pursue anyone who reports a genuine issue responsibly and does not access or damage other people's data.
24. Suspending or ending access
We may suspend or end your access to AgriVale, in whole or in part, if:
- you break these terms, and in particular section 23;
- we reasonably believe your account is being used unlawfully or fraudulently, or in a way that puts other users, their data or AgriVale at risk;
- we are required to by law, by a court, or by a regulator;
- a payment obligation is unpaid, once billing exists.
Where it is reasonable and lawful to do so, we will tell you first and give you the chance to put it right. Where the risk is immediate — an account takeover, an attack, unlawful use — we may act first and tell you afterwards.
You can stop using AgriVale at any time, and close your account as described in section 21.
Sections that by their nature should survive the end of this agreement — including sections 8 (the part about content we still hold), 18, 22, 27, 28, 29 and 30 — continue to apply.
25. Changes to the service
Farm software changes. We may add, alter or remove features, change how a feature works, or stop offering part of AgriVale.
Where a change materially reduces a feature you rely on, we will give you reasonable notice and, where we can, a way to export the records affected. Features described as in pilot, in development or rolling out — including parts of AgriVale Connect — may change or may not be delivered at all.
26. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms. When we do, we publish the new version here with a new version number and a new effective date.
- For material changes — anything that meaningfully changes your rights or obligations, including the introduction of charges — we will notify you in advance and ask you to accept the new terms. Continuing to use AgriVale is not treated as acceptance of a material change. If you do not accept, you can close your account, and we will tell you in the notice what happens to your access if you do not accept by the date given.
- For other changes — corrections, clarifications, a new supplier on the Subprocessors page, changes required by law — we publish the updated version and, where it is significant, tell you.
We keep a record of which version of these terms you accepted and when.
27. Warranties and liability
What we do not promise. AgriVale is provided as it is and as available. Beyond what these terms say and what the law requires, we do not give any warranty, condition or guarantee — in particular, we do not warrant that AgriVale will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure, that the information in it is complete or accurate, that it will meet your requirements, or that using it will make you compliant with any legal, scheme or contractual obligation.
What we are not liable for. Subject to the paragraph below headed "What we never exclude", we are not liable for:
- loss of profit, loss of revenue, loss of anticipated savings, loss of business or business opportunity, or loss of goodwill;
- indirect or consequential loss;
- a penalty, fine, disallowance, payment reduction, cross-compliance deduction or loss of scheme payment;
- loss or corruption of data, beyond restoring what we can from our routine backups;
- the acts, omissions or advice of an advisor, an accountant or any other third party;
- the acts, omissions, decisions, systems, availability, response or processing times of the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine or any other public body;
- failure or delay of a third-party messaging network, so that a message, code or reminder is late or does not arrive;
- anything caused by your breach of these terms, by inaccurate information you or someone you authorised put into AgriVale, or by your failure to check information before relying on it;
- events outside our reasonable control.
Our limit. Where we are liable to you, our total liability for all claims arising in any 12-month period is limited to the greater of: the fees you actually paid us for AgriVale in the 12 months before the claim arose, and €100. AgriVale is currently supplied free of charge, so for most users that limit is €100.
What we never exclude. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
28. If you are a consumer
Most people who use AgriVale do so in the course of a farming business or an advisory practice, and are not consumers.
If you are a consumer, nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights, including your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2022. Any term in these terms that would limit or exclude those rights does not apply to you to the extent that it would. If you are a consumer, section 27 applies only as far as the law allows.
29. Governing law and courts
These terms, and any dispute arising out of them or out of your use of AgriVale, are governed by the law of Ireland.
The courts of Ireland have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident in another EU Member State, that jurisdiction is non-exclusive: you keep any right you have to bring proceedings in the courts of the country where you live, and to rely on the mandatory consumer protections of that country.
30. Other terms
Severability. If any part of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the rest continues in force, and that part applies to the greatest extent it lawfully can.
No waiver. If we do not enforce a right or a term straight away, that does not mean we give it up.
Assignment. You may not transfer your rights or obligations under these terms without our written consent. We may transfer ours to a member of our group or to a buyer of our business, provided your rights under these terms are not reduced; we will tell you if we do.
Entire agreement. These terms, the Privacy Policy, the Cookie and Storage Policy and, where it applies, the Data Processing Agreement are the whole agreement between you and us about AgriVale, and replace anything said or written before. This does not limit your remedies for fraud.
No third-party rights. Nobody who is not a party to these terms has a right to enforce them.
